Edwin Roman
May 22, 1946 - February 5, 2021

Edwin was born to father Juan Cruz and mother Maria Guevara on May 22, 1946 in Humacao Puerto Rico and was later raised in New York. Edwin has eight wonderful children (Michelle, Rita, Edwin, Marlene, Christine, Melissa, Daniel, and Angel) fifteen amazing grandchildren and seven adoring great-grandchildren. Edwin is also survived by his beautiful loving wife Zeida Roman. Edwin and Zeida met in New York and have been together since he was 26 years old. She has been by his side through thick and thin and always put Edwin's health first. Together they have created a fulfilling life full of love.
Edwin enlisted into the Marine Corps December 1, 1968 at the age of 22 years old and was very proud of his military achievements. At the end of his service, he had a Corporal rank and was a rifle expert. The stories Edwin shared of his military days show the passion and pride he had to be a Marine.

Edwin was the best father and grandfather anyone could ever ask for. From spreading knowledge and advice learned over a lifetime to spreading out jellybeans, Edwin was a man of all trades. He loved renovating the house and was constantly adding new features to it like another driveway, an extra bathroom, and of course anything Zeida wanted done she would have. He was a hard worker at heart and no challenge was ever too big. Edwin loved everyone and is loved by everyone. He is always in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.

We have a wonderful grandfather.
One who never really grew old, his smile was made of sunshine, and his heart was solid gold. His eyes were as bright as shining stars, and that's the way it'll always be. But take heed, because he's still keeping an eye on all of us, so let's make sure he will like what he sees.

In loving memory of my papas Edwin Roman.

Loving you always

Forever your princess, Lyric Sky

A Hero's Welcome
By Robert Longley

Time to come home dear brother
Your tour of duty through
You've given as much as anyone
Could be expected to do
Just a few steps further
The smoke will start to clear
Others here will guide you
You have no need to fear
You have not failed your brothers
You clearly gave it all
And through your selfless actions
Others will hear the call
So, take your place of honor
Among those who have gone before
And know you will be remembered
For now, and evermore
