Mrs. Elba Oquendo, 82 years old, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at her home in Orlando, Florida. Elba was born on December 21, 1933 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to parents Ramon Diaz and Clautilde Fonte-Velez.
She is survived by her sons Raul Oquendo Jr. and Roberto Oquendo; daughters Wanda Oquendo, Daisy Oquendo, and Johanna Oquendo; brothers Jose Luiz Santiago and Felix Santiago; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elba was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon Diaz and Clautilde Fonte-Velez; her loving husband, Raul Oquendo Sr.; and her sister, Margarita Santiago.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016from 4:00 - 9:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd., Orlando, FL 32822. The funeral ceremony will take place the following day, Friday, July 22, 2016, at 11:00 AM, also at Newcomer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
