Eleanor Alexander Bryant

July 1, 1929 — July 22, 2018

Eleanor A. Bryant, 89, Longwood, FL was welcomed by her parents John A and Mary V Alexander to begin her journey in life on July 1, 1929 in Alexandria, Va. There she spent a happy childhood with cousins and friends and treasured those memories throughout her lifetime. She married the love of her life, Warren, in November, 1947 and became a widow in 1991. In their life together, they welcomed and raised 5 children, David, Sissy, Debra, Dennis and Donald. She is survived by 3 of her children and their spouses; Debra and Tony Custodio, Dennis and Marsha Bryant, and Donald and Lori Bryant. She felt very blessed and proud of her children and their spouses for all of their love and support during her lifetime. She is preceded in death by her son, David and daughter, Sissy. They moved to Central Florida in the early 1960's and her journey now included lifelong friendships and relationships with both family and friends that she treasured. She was an honored part of her grandchildren's lives from birth. She dearly loved all of them and their soul mates for the special treasured times together, and for some, including their wedding and the arrival of their children. She was affectionately known as Mema to her 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Others close to her also called her Mema. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary of those closest to her. She shared her strength and personality with all who interacted with her. She loved and treasured her family and friends – including the furry ones. As she peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, July 22 in the pre-dawn hours of the morning, she left us all with an important life lesson - be strong and care for one another.

In addition to her commitment and dedication to family, she also enjoyed being a caregiver, a circuit wire wrapper, being a member and in the choir of Faith United Methodist Church, attending the YMCA with special friends, loved caring for flowers, enjoyed cooking and eating, was entertained by seeing and hearing the birds and squirrels go about their daily life, reading and playing cards.

She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all those who interacted with her as she is someone you can not forget.
