FENTON, BETTY LOU, 92 of Winter Park, FL passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at her home of 55 years. Born in Milton, MA and raised in Omaha, NE, Betty Lou was the youngest daughter of Lillian and Frank Waechter. There were nine children in the family and Betty Lou was the last surviving child of Lillian & Frank. She attended the University of Nebraska and then began working for the Bell Telephone Company in Omaha. In 1950 she married the love of her life, Robert P. Fenton "Bob" of Lincoln, NE. Betty Lou and Bob moved to Winter Park, FL in 1959 with their son Bobby. Their daughter, Zibbie was born that year and the family enjoyed their new home and loving neighbors in the beautiful City of Winter Park. Bob Fenton was working as the City Clerk of Apopka, FL when he passed away at the age of 45. Betty Lou spent the next several years devoted to raising their two children. She re-entered the work force after Bob's death and enjoyed her work at The Whimsy Shop, The Girl Scouts of America, Demetree Associates and finally Southeast Bank. Betty Lou was a humble, gracious woman who made friends easily. She will be remembered by many for her unending love, devotion and strength.
Betty Lou is deeply missed by her children, Robert P. Fenton, Jr. and Elizabeth "Zibbie" Fenton Grimes, Son-in-law, Hank Grimes. Four grandchildren, Robert Fenton III, Kelly Fenton, Greg Grimes and Grant Grimes. Grandson-in-law, Victor Narvaez and two great granddaughters, Nevaeh & Annaliese. As well as the many nieces and nephews around the country.
A graveside service is planned for Oct. 4th at Glen Haven Memorial Park where her ashes will be interred with her husband.
