Elizabeth Anne Thompson Griffith
October 26, 1946 – January 11, 2018
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Anne Thompson Griffith. She was a WARRIOR: She fought and beat breast cancer, not once but twice! But the third invasion of Cancer and final stages of Alzheimer was just too much for her body.
Anne was born in Tampa, Florida and lived her life growing up as an Air Force brat. She lived in various bases throughout the United States, as well as Japan and the Azores.
Anne lived life on her terms! In Texas, she was a telephone line repair operator and climbed poles when females were challenged for stepping into male dominated roles.
When she moved to Florida her jobs consisted of being in roles that serviced and helped others. But her jobs were not her legacy.
Her priority was her family and friends. But mostly her family and friends that became her family. And she had lots of love to shower on her family! If you needed her, needed to talk, needed a drink, needed a laugh, needed a hug …she was your go to gal!
Those that were in Anne's inner circle of friends and family knew that she did not mince words or opinions. She had no problem telling you like it was…sometimes when you really did not want to hear what she had to say…but she always finished with a "I still love you!" Her love was unconditional!
When Anne was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and she needed daily and more immediate care, she moved in with her Son, Jeffrey, Wife, Kerrie, and Grandsons, Justin and Nicolas. Affectionally known as Granny, she was a constant in their lives dotting on her family, full of her antics, her teasing, her laughter, her opinions, and her LOVE.
Ann leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Kerrie and her grandsons Justin and Nicolas.
She is predeceased by her Grandchildren, Shannon and Jeffrey Jr Thompson, her Parents, Harold and Helen Springer, her Brother Alan Springer, and her Son, Jeffrey.
We loved her beyond words and will find the world a bit less sunny without her presence. But the memories we hold in our heart are forever!
