Elizabeth "Betty" Simmons entered this world on October 12, 1947 as the second child and baby girl of Early J. Daniels, Sr. and Lila Mae Daniels at East Meadow Hospital on Long Island, New York. Her older brother, the late Earley J. Daniels, Jr. precedes her in death. Betty laid her armor down on March 19, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
At an early age, Betty accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Bethel AME Church in Westbury, New York. Betty attended Westbury High School, where she met her future husband
James A. Simmons, Jr.
On December 5, 1970, Betty and James joined together in a holy union that lasted 43 wonderful years. Betty considered her greatest gift from God to be her four children who were the lights of her life
and the joys of her heart.
She will be greatly missed, but she leaves to celebrate her memory: her devoted husband James; her loving mother Lila Mae Daniels; her children Loretta Bumgardner of Tampa, Harry and Kristine Bumgardner of Orlando, Tina Bumgardner of Orlando and Lorraine Simmons of Jacksonville; her grandchildren, the late Alexandria, Brittany, Jasmine, Brianna and Tyler; two godchildren, Kenneth Willet and Delicia Williams, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away."
