It is with the deepest sorrow and pain to inform everyone that Ella Ivanovna Ovchinnikova, age 72, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Cornerstone Hospice Inpatient Unit in Orlando.
Ella was born on February 1, 1947 in St. Petersburg, Russia, to her late parents, Ivan Parovitin and Zinaida (Kortyeva) Parovitina.
Ella was an amazing lady with a kind and generous heart, sweet and gentle personality, loyal to everyone, and with so many talents. She was a wonderful daughter to her parents, wife to her late husband, extraordinary mother and grandmother.
All her life was dedicated to the family. After graduating from St. Petersburg State Marine and Shipbuilding University, she started her career as an engineer for the Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering; which was the oldest and largest of the three main Russian centers of submarine designs. Even though she had a challenging and promising career, there was something more important in her life, and that was her family and especially her daughter. After her daughter started school, Ella decided that she would want her child to be raised without aftercare at school, and changed her career dramatically. She became a teacher/trainer at the technical college for residential and commercial elevator installation and maintenance. She educated herself and mastered this unique subject, so her daughter would have hot meals after school and two months in the summertime spent together. She was a working mom who also cooked three meals a day, designed and made clothes for the family members and even friends, participated in her daughter's school events, piano classes and other activities. She was a great theater goer, she loved ballet, opera, classical music, concerts, exhibitions and she introduced and shared that love to her daughter and granddaughter. At the end of her career in Russia, she was a guest trainer for OTIS elevator, one of the largest companies worldwide, where, due to her expertise, she trained top engineers.
Despite the very successful career, the most important thing in her life was still her family. She moved to America to reunite with her daughter, leaving everything behind and starting a new life at the age of 50 from the very beginning. Her goal was to be with her family and help in any possible way she could.
She did work for OTIS elevators for a short period of time, but her passion was in arts and design. Ella, who was a person of so many talents, found a new career in fashion design and then later in interior design and décor, which she made it eventually her business. At the same time, she devoted all her spare time to her family and especially her granddaughter. She became her best friend and a role model. Ella always wanted to design costumes for the theatrical productions, and for many years she was a wardrobe manager and costume designer for the Arabian Nights show in Kissimmee until the company closed doors in 2013. All those beautiful costumes in the show were designed, sketched, made patterns and so on by her.
Ella always took a pride in everything she did, no matter how small or big the project was. Her compassion for others was unbelievable, she always saw the best in people, and her love for family was extraordinary, it was as deep and vast as an ocean.
Sadly, there was a day when she got diagnosed with that horrifying disease - cancer. The courage she fought it with was unreal. She never complained about anything and tried to make it for everyone as easy as possible. She was a true hero. She will be missed immensely, but never forgotten.
Ella is survived by her daughter, Elizaveta Dolya and her husband, Yuri, of Orlando; and her granddaughter, Paulina Dolya and her husband, Andrew Sexton, of Miami.
Visitation is Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando. Funeral Services led by Fr. Andrii Syrkin will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
