Elmer Martinez Sta. Ana, 74, of Orlando, went home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Elmer was affectionately known as "Sonny" to his friends and family and "Lolo Pogi" to his grandchildren. He was born on December 24, 1948 to Cecilio and Zoraida Sta. Ana in Manila, Philippines.
He married his beloved wife ChiChi Marquez, who he has shared his life with for the last 40 years. Sonny and ChiChi lived in Orlando, Florida. He enjoyed traveling around the world, especially to his favorite place, his hometown Taytay, Rizal in the Philippines. He loved being a foodie, spending time with his family and friends, reuniting with his UP Prep alumni friends, photography, including many photos of his wife during their travels, and caring for his saltwater aquarium. Growing up, he enjoyed competitive Yoyo, table tennis, bowling, billiards and shooting pool.
Sonny always prioritized quality time and traditions with his family, a virtue instilled in his children. He spent his entire professional career in software development including being the head of product development at Computron/AXS-One, which is still widely used throughout the insurance and finance industries.
Upon retirement, Sonny happily retired to Orlando, Florida with his loving wife and dog. He was a loving father and doting grandfather, who's unwavering faith in Jesus led him to spend his additional spare time volunteering at Vista Church.
Sonny is survived by his loving Spouse, ChiChi; Sons, Dennis E (Dana) Sta. Ana, and Dexter E Sta. Ana; Daughters, Michelle M (Jason) Bueno, Marichelle M (William) Castillo, and Sarah I (Lucas) Sedycias; Grandchildren, Justin M Bueno, Joshua Z Bueno, Jake R Bueno, Emily Ann B Sta. He was preceded in death by his Ama and Ina, Cecilio Del Mundo and Zoraida Naval (Martinez) Sta. Ana; and his Brother, Octavio Sta. Ana.
Celebration of Life Services will be held in New Jersey, Florida, and the Philippines at a later date.
