Emily O. Moar

July 23, 1921 — May 26, 2016

Emily O. "Lee" Moar, 94, of Winter Park, FL, went to Heaven on May 26, 2016. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and resided there as the youngest member of a large family until 1942.

At the age of 21, she relocated to Washington D.C. to take an assignment with the British Embassy to do her part in supporting the Allied War Effort. After nine years at the Embassy she met her future husband of 59 years, Kenneth T Moar. Ken was also a Canadian and had served the war effort as a pilot in the RCAF in Europe. They were married in Winter Park in 1950 and had two daughters. Lee was an executive secretary by trade and worked at various places in the area while raising their family.

At the age of 50, Lee became a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. Lee and Ken both became active members of Orangewood Presbyterian Church in Maitland where she was employed. Lee led several women's Bible studies for decades where she developed close, lasting relationships with women of all ages.

At the age of 88, Lee moved into Westminster Winter Park where she involved herself in a variety of activities. Within the past four years, Lee discovered her artistic talent and has created many magnificent and inspiring paintings.

Lee was a well-loved child of God who touched many lives in her service to Christ and she will be sorely missed.
Survivors include daughters Nancy Pfingsten (Bill) and Marian Armstrong (Ray). Grandchildren: Preston Toor (Jen), Ian Pfingsten (Shannon), Matt Pfingsten (Katie), Lindsey Armstong, Lauren Harbit (David) and Bradley Pfingsten, four great granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held June 2nd at 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 125 N Interlachen Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789.
