Emma Mercedes Sierra de Arana at the age of 91 passed away peacefully at the comfort of her home in Orlando Florida, surrounded by her family on the 31st day of August 2023.
She was born in Manati, Puerto Rico, July 31, 1932, to her late parents, Juan Sierra Vega, and Francisca Montañez Sanchez.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Arana Rodriguez; a son, Randy William Arana; two brothers, Reynaldo Sierra Montañez, and Luis Angel Sierra Montañez; a sister, Brunilda Sierra Montañez.
She is survived by her two daughters, Yvonne Arana de Lazaroff and Wilma Calderon, two brothers, Johnny Sierra Montañez and Ramon Jaime Sierra Torres: two sisters, Elba Sierra Montañez, Socorro Sierra Leon and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Emma worked for the Department of Agriculture at the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico for several years where she was greatly admired, liked, and respected by her peers and coworkers. She had an exceptional work ethic that was beyond reproach, and she was devoted to her job as in all aspects of her life. She will be missed by many.
Emma's Celebration of Life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando.
