Tillman, Emma Lee- age 79 of Altamonte Springs, FL passed away May 4, 2018. Beloved wife of Benjamin R. Tillman; dearest mother of B.L. (late Sandy) Tillman & Beverly (Marty) Knapp; proud grandmother of Eric, Krystal, Kaitlyn, & Lindsey; sister of Tommy Essick.
Family will be present to receive friends for the viewing Friday, May 18 from 6pm-8pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 335 E. SR-434 Longwood, FL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19 at 4pm at the Apopka Seventh-day Adventist Church, 340 Votaw Rd., Apopka, FL.
Following the funeral service, Emma Lee will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens in Apopka alongside her husband Benjamin.
Emma Lee's career was spent as co-owner and office manager of Tillman's Plumbing Corporation until its sale. She later worked as an office assistant to local contractors and then as a secretary for the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. As a homemaker, she raised her two children and opened her home to many in the community and beyond.
After retirement, Emma Lee spent her time volunteering at her church and the Good Neighbor Place, but was best known for her extensive card-writing ministry. Emma Lee was a founder of the Adventurer program, which provides children with the opportunity to learn life-skills and discover God's plan for their salvation. In her last days, Emma Lee's faith never wavered, but was instead strengthened by the assurance of Christ's soon coming.
