Eric D Thompson Sr.
June 6, 1939 — December 15, 2022
Eric D. Thompson Sr, age 83, of Orlando, Florida headed home to the Father on Thursday December 15, 2022.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believith on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.
He was born on June 6th 1939 to parents Ronald Thompson Sr and Evelyn Thompson in Bethlehem PA.
They relocated to Ft Lauderdale Fl. where he grew up.
He joined the US Army after he met his first wife Veronica Marie. They tried to start a family but it was a struggle at first.
They were preparing to adopt when their first child came along. They went on to have 4 more for total of 5. After Veronica's passing he found love again with Jerra.
He told his mother " see that lady working on her roof, I am going to marry her. And so he married Jerra. The family was now 9 children.
In his younger days he liked golfing and was always involved in little league baseball and football. He loved to be surrounded by his grandchildren and great grandchildren and just relaxing.
He is survived by his wife Jerra Thompson, Brother Donald Thompson, nine children Bill Moon(Lucy), Bernice Layton, Kenny Jones(Deanna),Fred Jones, Kimberly Thompson, Eric D. Thompson Jr(Jennifer),
Gregory Thompson Sr(Teresa),Veronica Owens(Michael, Esther Lumbley(Brian), 30 Grandchildren and 25 great Grandchildren
We were all blessed that he was in our lives.
A Celebration of Eric's Life will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Orlando. 895 South Goldenrod Rd Orlando Fl. 32822. Tuesday 20 Dec 2022
Viewing is at 4-5 pm and the service will be start at 5pm.
