Erlinda Laureaga Agcanas

Erlinda Laureaga Agcanas, passed away on Sunday, 20 March 2016 at the age of 70 in Largo, FL.
Known by Linda by most of her friends and family, she was born to parents David and Adriana Laureaga on August 20, 1945 in Alabang, Philippines. She was the 2nd oldest of six children and attended Mapa High School. She graduated from Centro Escolar University.
After college, Linda braved the move to North America where she married a kind, US Navy man from her hometown, Jose Agcanas. They continued to move around the United States due to his military service and had two children during this time. They eventually purchased a home in Memphis, TN and settled in, spending the rest of the children's childhood there. Once their youngest graduated high school, they moved to Florida - living in Orlando and Largo - for work. Retirement found them back to Orlando. During retirement, they traveled often to their son's home in Tennessee, their hometown in Alabang, Philippines and many other places around the country and abroad.
Linda made her career as a chemist and worked in labs in Memphis, Orlando and Largo. She was an avid romance novel reader. She loved to sew and crochet. She enjoyed traveling and had just taken a trip to Las Vegas with her husband, sister Dolly and daughter. When it came to her grandchildren, Linda would attend as many events as she could whether in Munford, TN or Orlando, FL. She always kept busy and active until her final days.
Preceded in death by her parents, Linda is survived by her husband; her son, Joel Agcanas and his wife, Jennifer; her daughter, Sherry Agcanas-Wolf and her husband, Kevin; her sisters, Pinky, Dolly, Sally, and Tessie; her brother, Boy; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Logan, Maximus, and Jackson.
Visitation will be available to the public at Newcomer Funeral Home between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. The funeral mass will be held at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church the same day at 2:00 pm.
