Estela Rivera, age 88, of Orlando, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Cornerstone Hospice in Orlando. She was the loving wife of Jose Rodriguez.
Estela was born on June 29, 1931 in Salinas, PR, daughter of the late Juan Rivera and Candida Torres. In June 1970, she married her husband, Jose. Estela mostly worked as a beautician during her working years, and was a woman of extreme strength, courage and love and devotion to her husband, family and God. She exemplified beauty inside and out. Estela's door was always open. No one can prepare a dinner like she did. She had exquisite taste in clothes, and was always the life of the party.
Although it broke our hearts to see you go, we know you are in heaven, resting in peace with your "DIOCITO LINDO". We promise to take care of your beloved "Pepi" or "Papi", as you used to call him.
We love you and miss you. Until we meet again in heaven.

Besides her husband of 50 years, Jose, Estela is survived by her daughter, Ailin Lopez of Orlando; her son, Jose V. Rodriguez and his wife, Maggie, of Orlando; nine grandchildren, Eddie Lopez, Jaime Lopez, Josephine Rodriguez, Natasha Rodriguez, Nashaly Rodriguez, Jeline Rodriguez, Zaimelyn Rodriguez, Niasha Rodriguez, and Alexandra Rodriguez; two sisters, Titi, and Nereida; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Isolina, Eda, and Vicky; and four brothers, Nen, Roberto, Johnny, and Maso.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 4301 S. Chickasaw Trail, Orlando, with Fr. Jose Muñoz, officiating.
Visitation is Monday, January 27 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando.
Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando.
