Poteat, Eugene A., age 72, of Orlando, passed away Monday May 19, 2014. He was born in Cherokee, SC on October 1, 1941 to John Poteat and Anna Ballard Poteat.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty. He is survived by his daughter, Tavia Abernathy (Chris); son, Perry Poteat (Traci); son, Donnie Poteat; step-son, Ronald Powers (Sandy); grandson, Matthew Abernathy; granddaughter, Sarah Abernathy; granddaughter, Elise Ann Poteat; grandson, Kevin D. Poteat; grandson, Richard Wade Poteat; step-granddaughter, Jessica Powers; step-granddaughter, Shelby Powers; step-grandson, Trenton Powers; several great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Betty; girlfriend, Marsha Larsen.
A memorial service will be held at the Moose Lodge #766, 5001 N. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando. Interment will take place in North Carolina.
