Eugene Maxwell, age 68, of Orlando, FL, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at AdventHealth Hospice in Orlando.
Eugene was born on September 6, 1952, in Athens, AL, son to Mae Nell (Fuller) Maxwell and the late Ollie Eugene Maxwell. He was a true witness for Jesus Christ. A passionate and hardworking man, Eugene was a gifted inventor and a remarkable teacher, and a dedicated owner of his own painting business.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Gwendolyn, his Sweetheart-Honey, of Orlando; his mother, Mae Nell Maxwell of Calhoun, GA; his daughter, Kristen Hooks and her husband, Anthony, of Sanford, FL; Clesha Washington of High Point, NC, Celia Washington of Orlando, George Washington and his wife, Stefanie, of Harrington, DE, and Greg Washington and his wife, Pam, of Caldwell, ID; his former wife, Wanda Malone of Tampa, FL; sixteen grandchildren, Adriana Hooks, Anthony Hooks, Kiandra Hooks, Akria Hooks, Isaiah Shade, Jawann Washington, Santanna Washington, Montrail Davis, Corde Riggins, Bariah Ledgister, George Washington, Jr., Giselle Washington, Dreyden Johnson, Delilah Johnson, Nevaeh Washington, Lukah Washington; one great-grandchild, Aubrey Shade; two sisters, Doris Shoulders and her husband, James, of Calhoun, GA, and Charlene Schenone and her husband, Aldo, of Calhoun, GA and a brother, Eric Shane Stinnett and his wife Mary of Calhoun, GA.
He is preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Diana Murry.
Funeral Services will be celebrated on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood, with Pastor Johnnie Mayweather officiating.
Visitation with the family will precede the service at the funeral home from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.
Interment will be in Historic Lake Mary Cemetery, Lake Mary,
FL.
