Rowland, Eugenia Rose, 78 went to her heavenly home after a long battle with cancer on July 6, 2016. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Eugenia was born to the late George N. Whitaker and Ercell Payne Whitaker, in Section, Alabama on July 4, 1938. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Larry G. Rowland, her son Larry G. Rowland II, and two daughters Elizabeth Jarrell and husband Paul of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Rebecca Magollo and husband Zeblon of Orlando, Florida. Two sisters Mary Henderson of Apopka, Florida and Elizabeth Duke of Florence, Alabama, and two brothers Tommy Whitaker of Land O' Lakes, Florida and George Whitaker of Huntsville, Alabama.
She was a graduate of Florence State College in Alabama. She taught at Union Park Elementary School in Orlando, Florida for 37 years and then substitute taught after retiring for another 8 years.
A public viewing will be held at Aloma Baptist Church preceding the funeral services. The funeral services will be on Sunday July 10, 2016 (Veiwing is at 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.) (Service will be at 3:30 p.m.)
She will be buried at Wake Chapel in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aloma Baptist Building Fund or Vitas Hospice in her name.
