Evelyn P. Barton, 79, died of respiratory failure on April 8, 2011. Evelyn was born in Tate Springs, Tennessee on August 1, 1931. She spent her earlier years in Trenton, Kentucky, and moved to the Orlando area in 1968 where she spent 17 years working in the cafeteria at the Orlando Navy Base and was fondly known as the "hot dog lady". Evelyn loved auto racing and was a diehard Jeff Gordon fan. During her time in the area, Evelyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Orlando. Evelyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. She is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Anna Glenn, and siblings, David Glenn, Jane Hilton, Arthur Glenn, Jr., Lee Glenn. Evelyn is survived by her husband Robert Barton, her 3 daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Cliff Duncan, Barbara and Jim Baker, and Heather and Chuck Winkleman. Grandchildren, Robin (Mike) Mantor, Cathy (Mike) Heafner, JR Baker and Gregg Winkleman. Great grandchildren, Brittany Sapp, Sharon Mantor, Stacey (Collin) Outerbridge. Great-great granddaughter, Emma Outerbridge. Brothers and their wives, Bill and Belvie Glenn, LC and Martha Glenn.
Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home at 895 South Goldenrod Rd., Orlando, FL 32822. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 7pm to 9pm with a memorial service on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 2pm. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation in Evelyn's name to the COPD Foundation or the Salvation Army.
