Flora Aguon Vickers, 80, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Flora was born and raised on the island of Guam, in the village of Umatac. Flora was an excellent cook and seamstress. When her children were younger, she would dress the whole family for church on Sunday with new outfits every week. She was constantly called upon to make food for family parties. She loved to play Bingo weekly and card games with her friends and family. She loved teaching her grandchildren to play poker and bingo. She also loved to dance. The family learned to do the Cha-Cha from her. She had a young heart and wanted to do activities with the kids to keep her young.
She was also kindhearted, with a kind and loving soul. She took people in all the time. If a friend or family member was having a hard time, they could always find a place of refuge at her house. She gave folks the time to get back on their feet.
Her work ethic was excellent. She received many awards for Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year. She worked hard and always strived to do her best. She was a friend to other employees, hard worker for the company, and delivered amazing customer service. Everyone knew they could count on her. She retired from the Navy Exchange in Orlando.
Flora is survived by her beloved husband, Colin P. Vickers; cherished children, Dora Ann (Jay) Edmonson, Cheryl L. (Don) Mills and Fred (Michelle) Vickers; grandchildren, Arah Shaw, Kenneth Edmonson, Charles Edmonson, Anthony Santos, Nicholas Santos, Garrett Mills, Brody Mills, Christopher Vickers, Kayla Lott, Kyler Vickers and Zachary Vickers; and 10 great-grandchildren.
