Frances I. Arnold, age 86, of Orlando, FL passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at AdventHealth East Orlando Hospital.
Frances was born on April 23, 1935 in Huntington, WV; daughter of the late William A. and Lillian G. (Watts) Cook. On September 3, 1960 in Winchester, VA, she married her husband, Thomas Arnold.
She led a very full life; her three sisters and two brothers grew up in Cleveland, OH, but spent portions of their youth traveling and working through multiple states like Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee, and Virginia. Eventually, in 1980, she settled in Florida with her husband. They worked together in hotel management for Sheraton and Howard Johnson. Frances also had a career in retail, working as a bookkeeper and other capacities before she retired from both Kmart and WalMart.
Frances also raised five children on the journey of life. She will always be remembered in one way or another in each and every one of us because we all have our own memories, whether it is as a mom, wife, friend, sister, grandma, or aunt; our matriarch is gone and we will go on and have our memories forever. We love you, Fran!
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Thomas Arnold, of Orlando; three children, James, Cheri, and Thomas, Jr. and their spouses; a sister and best friend, Betty Gibson and her husband, Kenneth; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends who loved her as she did them. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ronnie and David; and two grandchildren, Frank and Michelle; her brothers, Robert and Denny; and her sisters, Flora and Pamela.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated at a later date.
