Frances Dunn, age 82 of Longwood, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2023 after a long illness. She was born in Miami, FL on May 31, 1941 to parents Ernest and Myrtle Anders.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, sons, Kevin of Longwood, FL, Todd, of Newland, NC, daughter-in-law Leila Dunn of Longwood, FL, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and her mother (who is 99 years old nearing 100). She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Jeff, father Ernest Anders, brother Gene and sister Martha.

She met her husband, Jim, in New Smyrna Beach, FL and they were married on December 13, 1959. After several jobs and moves the family (including 3 sons by now) settled in Orlando, FL. Fran entered the mortgage industry in 1972 and after several years she held positions of vice president of a savings and loan and senior vice president of two mortgage companies.

Fran was a pillar in the mortgage industry known for her integrity, dedication, ingenuity, knowledge and wit. She was the first female vice president for the Central Florida Builders Association, on the board of directors of the Florida State Builders Association. She pioneered the builders construction-perm program with FHA while being involved with the Florida Bankers Association and the Florida Realtors Association. For her hard work and many years of service on November 7, 2014, Fran was inducted into the Florida Builders Hall of Fame and honored as the Associate of the Year in the Mid-Florida Builders Association.

During their working years Fran and Jim purchased property in the mountains of North Carolina where they spent many vacations and summers relaxing, playing golf and enjoying family and visitors. Fran considered this as heaven on earth and this is where her ashes will be scattered.
