Francisco F. Martinez, 86, passed away on June 14, 2020 surrounded by family in Orlando, Florida. Francisco was born in Asturias, Spain in 1933 and was one of eight children. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elsie, his son, Francisco, and his grandson, Javier.
After leaving Spain, Francisco lived in Cuba for many years. He would go on to become the classic example of a man who fulfilled the "American Dream". Francisco and his younger brother, Laureano, fled Communist Cuba and were rescued at sea by the Coast Guard. He arrived in Miami and began building his legacy. For most of his life, Francisco would go on to work as an International Auditor and CFO of major companies. He traveled all over the world and eventually met his wife, Elsie, in Brazil. They got married and their only son, Francisco (Paco), was born shortly thereafter.
In 1980, he took his family to live in Stamford, Connecticut, where they lived until 2005. Francisco retired and moved to Florida and loved spending time with his family and enjoying the Florida weather.
Francisco loved everything soccer. He was an avid fan of the Spanish soccer club, Real Madrid. He enjoyed watching classic movies, traveling, playing chess and spending quality time with his family. Francisco's smile was one that would always bring joy to any situation. He knew how to bring out the best in people and his presence will be sorely missed.
I Love You Dad, you'll always be with us. Thank you for passing on all your wisdom and love...
