Frank M. Hunter was born May 9, 1947 in Bad Kissingen, Germany. He immigrated to the United States with his mother, Edith Hunter and step father, Willard Hunter in 1959. He attended high school in Champaign, Illinois and was on the track team. After college Frank worked as a building engineer with several different companies. In 1980 he started his own business doing restaurant equipment repair.
In 1970 Frank met Sue in Des Plaines, Illinois. They dated on and off for two years and were married on September 22, 1972. They lived in Rolling Meadows, Illinois until 1982 when they relocated to Orlando.
Frank got his real estate license in Florida and sold commercial real estate for a few years. Then in 1985 Frank and Sue bought the Princeton Diner in College Park. They owned the restaurant for 23 years and closed it last November when Orange County took the property to expand Edgewater High School.
Frank accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1990. He has been an active member of Calvary Assembly in Winter Park since 1991. He served as a home care group leader, voter registration coordinator and oversaw the Banner Carrier Ministry.
One of the proudest moments in Frank's live was when he became a citizen of the United States. Frank was passionate about this country and became an avid and active supporter of the Republican Party. He served as chairman for the Orange County Christian Coalition for several years.
Frank and Sue enjoyed an active lifestyle, traveling whenever they could. They bought their first motor home when they got married and continued to RV all over the country until Hurricane Charley destroyed their last motor home. They then experienced different kinds of trips including mountain cabins in the Smokies, a cruise and air travel to different places.
Frank was known to all his friends and family as the guy who could fix anything. He was a generous, loving man who gave freely of his time and talents to anyone who needed his help. His offbeat sense of humor, the twinkle in his blue eyes and his warmth and gentle spirit will be missed tremendously but we know beyond the shadow of a doubt that Frank is Rejoicing in Heaven today- He is home!
Frank is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sue of Orlando; sister Elaine Evans of Reno, Nevada; nephew, Andrew Evans of Reno, Nevada.
