West, Jr. Frank, age 79, of Casselberry, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. He was born in Kingsport, TN and graduated from Steed College, Johnson City, TN in 1962. Frank served in the US Army from 1963 – 1966, stationed in Germany. In 1987, he moved to Orlando, Florida, a state which he loved and had often visited as a youth. He worked at Siemens Corporation (retired 1998) where he met his wife, Cheryl Lynn Duncan West, whom he married in 1991.
Frank was an avid motorcyclist, achieving his goal of riding to all 48 continental states over a period of six years. He shared his wife's love of their Samoyed dogs and rescue cats. Many people at the dog shows knew Frank for his constant support of Cheryl in the show ring. As he once said, "I don't know what you're doing out there, but you sure look pretty." Frank and Cheryl loved cruising, enjoying trips to Alaska, the Caribbean and Central America.
Frank was a kind man, never a harsh word spoken, and a true gentleman. He cared deeply for animals and children, supporting several causes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank West Sr. and Hazel Speers West. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Lynn Duncan West, his daughters, Tamra Blake (husband Bill) and Dana Ellis Fletcher (husband Tim), three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Frank will be interned, with military honors, at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/capecanaveral.asp 5525 US Highway 1, North Mims, Fl 32754.
