Frederick Stalfort Steinbach, Jr. passed away on January 5, 2021 at the age of 88 years. He will be missed by his loving family.
Born February 12, 1932, he was the son of Frederick Stalfort Steinbach, Sr. and Freida Carolyn Steinbach, both deceased.
A native of Baltimore, MD, he graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in industrial engineering in 1954.
On November 20, 1954, he married Cecilia (Cele) Louise Totis and enjoyed 61 years of marriage with his best friend until her passing on July 2, 2016. He served for two years in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He returned to Baltimore in 1956, and began a 32-year career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation as an engineer and manager in Baltimore, Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Pittsburgh, PA. In 1989, Fred and Cele retired to Cape Coral, FL, where they enjoyed boating on "Derfs Dinghy", and activities with several social clubs. Fred and Cele moved to Orlando, FL in 2012 to be closer to family, and in 2015, moved to the Mayflower Retirement Community at Winter Park, FL.
Fred is survived by his sons Mark (Jenny), and John (Terese) Steinbach, and six grandchildren.
During his later years, Fred enjoyed attending the annual Johns Hopkins alumni reunions. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Johns Hopkins, Whiting School of Engineering at 3400 North Charles St, Baltimore, MD 21218.
A private funeral will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, followed by entombment at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Gotha, FL.
