FREDERICK E TARTAGLIA JR.
February 6,1956 to August 12, 2021

Frederick "Zappa" Tartaglia, Jr., 65, of Casselberry, Florida, passed peacefully in his sleep, August 12, 2021, at The Vitas Suites of Orlando Lutheran Towers.
Born in New York City, Fred lived in Morristown and Lake Hopatcong, NJ until the age of 5, when his family moved to Maitland, Florida. Fred graduated from Lyman High School in 1973, at which time he started the journey to him becoming an integral part of the Central Florida music and entertainment industry.
After years working with several established companies in Florida such as Beach Club Booking, Showco, Stage One, G-Force, Jack Link and Associates and Stage Tech Productions, Fred ventured out on his own to open, what would become, one of Florida's longest established Entertainment Technical Personnel Support companies, FM Services. Fred's company also included a catering division that supplied catering and hospitality for not only the Artists of events, but all the crews involved as well.

Fred's uncanny ability to connect with whomever he met along the way led to his company gaining major contracts with many companies such as Universal Studios, Orlando/Amway Arena and AEG Florida. The Tangerine Bowl "Rock Superbowl Series", Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd and Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights series were just a small sliver of the 1000's of major events that Fred was a part of the support necessary to be successful. Fred decided to retire in 2018 and closed the doors at FM Services and that chapter of his life.
In 2013 Fred became an active member of The Sons of The American Legion Post 183 family. Fred's passion for the Sons showed as his first official duties there were as Vice-Commander of Post 183. Two years later he advanced to assume duties as the Post Commander. His dedication and selfless involvement moved him up the ranks to the 6th District Vice-Commander and at Fred's passing he was in the midst of becoming 6th District Commander. Fred deeply loved his family at The Sons of The American Legion as well as his involvement with such a great organization doing so many great things for people.

Fred left an indelible imprint on everyone he met. He was a funny, honest, hard-working and caring person who believed in giving ANYONE a hand up if they were in need. Everyone he met immediately became part of his family. He was responsible for giving so many people their start in the business of which most have advanced to positions of importance and responsibility in the industry. Fred touched more people throughout his life than an average person would in 5 lifetimes. He was loved by an unimaginable number of people and leaves behind a void that will never be filled. Fred will be greatly missed by all including his 4-legged companion Remy.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Frederick E. Tartaglia, Sr. and Lucille C. Tartaglia (Mama Lue). He is survived by two sisters, Carol L. Tartaglia of Johnson City, Tennessee and Donna C. Pastore (and husband) of Deland, Florida, as well as three nieces and two great nieces.
