Furman Allen Gresham, Jr.

Furman Allen Gresham, Jr., age 75, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at AdventHealth Care Center Orlando East.
Allen was born on May 11, 1947 in Spartanburg, SC, son to Carolyn (Groce) and Furman Allen Gresham, Sr. He graduated from Byrnes High School and Greenville Technical College before earning his B.S. in Computer Science from The Citadel. He spent most of his career in Charleston, SC, working as a Systems Engineer and Data Processing Manager before opening his own consulting business.
An avid reader and passionate literacy advocate, Allen spent time as a Rotary reader in the Charleston public schools helping young children discover their own love for reading. He also was extremely active in the life of the church, volunteering as a Sunday school teacher and choir director. He found great joy in music, traveling, and fishing, but most of all in spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Gresham; their two sons, David Gresham and his wife, Kathryn, of Brevard, NC, and Greg Gresham and his wife, Tracy Zanco, of Orlando; three grandchildren, Jack Gresham, Kayla Hardekopf, and Keira Hardekopf; and a brother, Timothy Gresham and his wife Monica, of McKinney, TX.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday,
April 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Wellford Baptist Church, 235 Syphrit Rd, Wellford, SC 29385.
Inurnment will take place in the family plot at Wellford Cemetery, Wellford, SC.
