Gary Allen MacLeod, 76, of Orlando, FLpassed away on January 23, 2022. He was born on September 11, 1945 in New Bedford, MA to the late Edward and Helen (nee Rogers) MacLeod.
Gary did two tours in the Vietnam War having served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and as a Petty Officer Second Class in the United State Coast Guard. During his service in the Air Force he was awarded the Distinguish Flying Cross, the Bronze Star, the Air Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal for his actions in service. He went onto an extensive career in HVAC/ Refrigeration. Gary was a resident of Orlando for over 50 years. During this time, he was a teacher in Orange County Technical University for 26 years. In 2018, Gary retired as the Apprenticeship Coordinator of Air Conditioning Contractors Association of Central Florida (ACCA/CF) Apprenticeship Program.
In his spare time, Gary enjoyed working on cars, watching college football, and attending NHRA at the Gator Nationals. We are thankful, that because of his faith in Christ's finished work on the cross he is safely home in His presence where there is fullness of joy. He was admired and loved by many. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, John MacLeod of Fort Myers, FL and Holly Handley of Orlando, FL, three grandchildren, Ryan, Jasper and Shea and nephew, Michael MacLeod, Leesburg, FL. In addition to his predeceased by his brother, Lloyd "Mac" MacLeod.
Burial will take place with military honors. For service information, please contact the family.
