Gary Carter Parker, age 73, of Winter Springs, Florida passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 peacefully at his home. He was born on February 26, 1948 in Cullman, Alabama, the son of Raymond and Wynell Parker.

Gary enlisted in the Army, served in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart. After his military service Gary ultimately settled in Central Florida where he spent his career working in the banking industry. Gary held a variety of roles with Suntrust, Citizens Bank of Oviedo and BB&T spanning a 30+ year career. Gary loved supporting his local communities and was active with the Rotary Club of Oviedo and the Winter Springs and Oviedo Chamber of Commerce. Gary's pride and joy was his family & friendships and the love that he had for them is what drove Gary to fight his cancer battles so strongly. He loved his children, stepchildren and grandkids more than anything. His wife, Sharon, was by his side over the last 20+ years for many wonderful adventures including family vacations, Alabama football games, and visits to national parks including his lifelong dream of seeing the Northern Lights.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Sharon Parker; children Kellie Parker Olmstead (Josh) and Jeremy Michael Parker (Jackie); step-sons Dale Matthew Willard (April) and Brian Jeffrey Willard (Leila); grandchildren Carter Olmstead, Jules Parker, Jordyn Parker, Lauren Willard, Jessica Willard, Josiah Willard, Selah Willard, and Serina Willard; sister Robbie Parker-Cochran; and a host of extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Wynell Parker, and his sister, Jean Williford.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 27th, 2021 at 4pm at the Chapel at Canterbury Retreat – 1601 Alafaya Trail, Oviedo, FL 32765. Please join us in recognizing Gary's intense passion for Alabama football by wearing Alabama gear or colors – crimson, white or gray. Roll Tide!!!
