Gaston "Gus" Desautels, 90, of Orlando, Florida passed away on December 20, 2018. He was born on April 9, 1928 in Waterbury, Connecticut.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Antonio Desautels, and his sister, Theresa Desautels.
He is survived by his wife, Iona Desautels; his children Greg, Gary, Guy, Cheryl, Gwen, Rick, and Gail; his six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Gus was a homebuilder for fifty years, and took great pleasure and pride in his work. He enjoyed dining out, martinis, and gatherings with friends and family. He was also an usher at St. John Vianney. Gus loved animals, dogs in particular, and children. Gus was on the board of Ranger Drainage, and the homeowners association. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the first person there if anyone needed anything, always ready to lend a helping hand. Finally, he was an excellent dancer, and that's how he met his wife, Iona. He and Iona spent 33 years, raising a loving family, who he was devoted to.
A memorial service will be held at St. John Vianney at a later date.
