Gaynell Jacinta Roberts, know to most as "Gay" was born in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn New York on September 2, 1973 to loving parents Gilbert and Gloria (Bootsie) Roberts.
She attend Queen of All Saints Catholic School on Washington Ave in Brooklyn New York.As a young child Gaynell loved going to school and was happy to be with other students learning new things. Her brother Martin who was 3 years older than her was always by her side and when you saw one you saw the other. They were called "Eyewitness News" because they would know everything. They was joined at the hip.
In 1991, Gaynell graduated from Boys and Girls High School and then went to college to take up nursing. She attended LIU University in Brooklyn New York and Manhattan College. Gaynell was a care giver to her mother who had a stroke at the age of 42. Her dedication to taking care of her mother was amazing. In 2003, she relocated to Florida where she resided. On April 12,2005 Gaynell was blessed with a beautiful baby girl Daisha Gloria Roberts Issac( Puddin). She was the love of Gaynell's life and the two were inseparable. Gaynell also loved her social media and always posted a word or two or three to express her concerns and views. She loved taking pictures of everyone and always posted them. Gaynell loved her entire family and friends-especially her special grandmother Gwendolyn Tinsley. She stayed connected to everyone.
Gaynell loved to cook. Her favorite was collard greens and macaroni and cheese. She was a true Brooklynite that loved eating Juniors cheesecake and pastrami sandwiches every time she came to visit Brooklyn. But her favorite was White Castles. She could eat those little square burgers all day and drink her pot of tea. In 2017, Gaynell decided to go back to college to pursue her education in Nursing. By April 2017, she had already completed two semesters of college. Her untimely and unexpected passing will never be forgotten. She was a people person that loved life to its fullest. We will truly miss her.
Left to cherish her memory is her only daughter Daisha Issac, her loving father Gilbert Roberts, nephew Karon, nieces Diamond and Destiny, host of aunts and uncles, cousins, and her extended family of brothers and sisters The Pierre-Louis Family from Brooklyn New York and long time family friends Bridgette and Clarissa. Special uncle Norman Bradley (Queens New York), Special friend Akiba and many more friends.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd., Orlando, FL 32822.
