George Douglas Cooper, Sr.

We regret with great sorrow to inform you of the passing of George Douglas Cooper Sr. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Mr. Cooper was born April the 6th 1943 in Preston, Georgia to Hardy Gifford and Laura Stokes Cooper.

George is preceded in death by Brother William Steven Cooper of Dawson, Georgia.
Survived by sister Barbara Linda McCraine Crestview, Florida. Survived by wife Gloria Jean Cooper, spouse of 56 years. Daughter Laura Cooper Griffis of Winter Park, Florida, deceased Son George Douglas Cooper Jr. and Son Kevin Leon Cooper of Winter Park, Florida. Grandfather of five granddaughters, two grandsons, one great granddaughter and one great grandson.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions - 3806 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, Florida 32792. Visitation from 2:00 to 2:30 PM. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 PM, followed by food and refreshments in the reception hall at the funeral home. George will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
