George Edward Brannan, Hawaiian Name: Keoki, 79 of Orlando passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 1, 2008. He was born in Burgettstown, PA on June 25, 1928 and moved to Orlando in 1962. He worked at Kennedy Space Center for 32 years until his retirement in 1996 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Bahia Shrine Center where he was past president of the Oriental Band and secretary for 14 years, Administrative aid in 1997, past president of Sojourners of Seminole County 373 and past commander of Hero's of 76.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Verna; daughters, Joyce Magyar, Kathleen (Neil) Clark, Mary Joe (Mike) Green and Jackie (Mark) Cooper; 8 grandchildren, Tina Clark, Nathan Cooper, Rena Medaris, Marianne Seegert, Ryan Cooper, Amanda Cooper, Melissa Cooper and David Green and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 5th in the Chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital Transportation Fund, C/0 Bahia Shrine Center, 2300 Pembrook Drive, Maitland, FL 32751.
