George A. Ellis, age 79, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at his home in Orlando.
He was born on September 14, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, son to his late parents, George A. and Violet (Foulk). On October 4, 1980, he married the former Nancy Piercy.
George was a longtime employee of the Department of Labor for the State of Florida before he retired.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nancy Piercy Ellis; mother-in-law, Evelyn Piercy of Orlando; brother-in-law, Patrick Piercy and his wife, Ann, of Hilton Head, SC; and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Piercy of Winter Haven, FL.
A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 6:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando.
The family will begin gathering for a period of sharing and mingling starting at 5:30 pm. Please bring your stories, anecdotes, and laughs to share. No dark clothing, and casual dress (jeans and sandals) will also be appreciated and welcomed.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in George’s memory can be made to Best Friends Animal Society .
