George M. Fetter, 92, passed peacefully on February 15th, 2015.
Born the son of George J and Anne Fetter on January 11th, 1923 in Hazelton, PA, George was awarded the Bronze Star, served our country during WWII in the US Army, and saw combat in 5 major campaigns and the Battle of the Bulge. With his wife Teresa, George moved to Orlando in 1952 as a founding member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and retired as a captain in the fire department at the U.S. Naval Training Center.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Teresa, two daughters Coleen Ravenel and Maureen (Jay) Lawyer, grandson Vincent Hohn, great granddaughter Emma King-Hohn, two sisters Rosemarie Shewack and Eleanor Semua, and one brother, Daniel.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Viewing will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on February 26th at 9:30 a.m. with funeral ceremonies at 10:30 a.m. and interment following at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
George was a man with a smile and who never knew a stranger, enjoyed boating, fishing, tinkering in his workshop, and the love of his family.
