Georgia "Georgia Ann" Miller Moore, 55, of Casselberry, Florida, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Florida after a long bout with cancer.
Georgia was born August 19, 1960 in Clearwater, Florida to the late Freddie and Rosa Lee Miller. She was their second daughter and the third of their four children. Georgia spent the majority of her life in Saint Petersburg, Florida where she graduated from Pinellas Park High School in 1978.
She earned her Associates degree from St. Petersburg College in 1981. Upon graduation, Georgia moved to Abilene, Texas to attend Abilene Christian University after being baptized at, sister congregation, Northside Church of Christ in St. Petersburg earlier that year. Georgia later obtained her bachelor's degree in Educational Studies from Warner Southern College in 2008.
Georgia's life after being baptized was devoted to Christ and the church she attended. She enjoyed traveling with other church members and attending and planning fellowship gatherings. Known for her, contagious smile and outgoing personality, Georgia worked with the church's youth. It is here that her inner light would shine brightest,—especially whenever she was around the younger sisters at the congregation she served. In 1995, Georgia met her future husband, Tharon "Tracy" Moore, at Fairmont Park Church of Christ in St. Petersburg where they both taught Sunday school. And in June 1997, the two became one and would eventually move to Orlando, Florida.
While residing in Orlando, Georgia and her family placed membership at Westmoreland Drive Church of Christ where she continued her works as a Sunday school teacher. Georgia's enthusiastic spirit could also be found working with three Pre-K programs for Orange County Public Schools within the past 18 years. She was nominated twice (in 2006 and 2010) for the Orange County Public Schools Support Person of the Year Award.
Georgia is survived by her husband of 18 years, Tharon "Tracy" Moore, two sons (Elliott Kiadii and Thaddaeus Moore), two brothers (Freddie Miller and Wilbert Miller), one sister (Shelly Jones), mother-in-law (Oretha Walker), a host of nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins, and many close friends and church members.
