Gerald I. Hunt 8/19/1923 - 10/31/2006
On Tuesday, October 31, 2006, G. I . Hunt left the arms of his loving family and entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held Friday, November 10, 6:00 P.M. at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, East Orlando Chapel; but, his greatest memorial is that which he left behind in the hearts of his family that he loved so dearly and his many friends who knew the loyalty of a strong, courageous, and kind-hearted man. Though we are saddened by his death, and he will be greatly missed, there will not be a void in our hearts for he purposely filled our hearts with many treasures to cherish and sustain us until we are reunited with him.
G.I. was a member of Fairview Shores Church of God/ Dayspring Evangelical, a Naval Veteran of WWII, a USS WASP survivor, a 32nd degree Mason, and a dedicated employee of McNamara Pontiac, Inc., where he served as Vice President and General Manager from the inception of the company until March, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his father William C. Hunt, his mother, Emily Hunt Hoover, his brothers, Charles F. Hunt, Kirby P. Hunt, and Joseph L. Hunt. He is survived by his wife, Deloris, his son, Dennis G. Brett Hunt of Orlando. .. his daughters, Sandy S. Osuna of Orlando, Cindy L. Schaeffer, and son-in-law George Schaeffer of Palm Bay, FL. . . his grandsons, Judson Sellars of Sevierville, TN., Jack Sellars of Palm Bay. . . his granddaughters, Hope Huston of Orlando, Lindsay Sellars of Palm Bay. . . his great-grandson, DJ. Huston of Orlando . . . his sister, E. Renay Hunt of Sanford, FL., his brother James W. Hunt of Branford, FL., and many other cherished family members.
