Gerald Long, age 69 of Orlando, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2006. He was born to Sam Long and Cora Atkinson on August 11, 1936 in Eckhart, Maryland. He and his family moved to Orlando from Ashtabula, Ohio in 1987. He is survived by his wife Joyce; children Victoria Bessant (William), Veronica Peebles (Gary), Carol Taylor (Butch), Robert Long (Jessica), and Jerrilynn Stacey (Michael). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and his sister Mary Ellen Perdue, brother James Long, and brother Larry Long. Visitation for Mr. Long will be held from 11AM-3PM on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, East Orlando. A graveside service will follow at 4PM at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando.
