Geraldine I Aliventi
Geraldine Aliventi (known as Gerri to family and friends), 63, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 with her loving husband of 42 years, Dominick, and daughter, Joie, by her side. She is also survived by her brother Robert, mother in law Antoinette, sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Tony, son-in-law Matt, niece Betsy and nephews Jimmy, Anthony, and Michael.
Gerri was born on November 27, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph and Vivian Sarnelle. In 1966, 13 year old Gerri met 15 year old Donnie at a laundry mat in Brooklyn. For the following 51 years, they continued to bring love to each other's lives.
On April 27, 1974 Gerri and Donnie celebrated their love in marriage. In 1978, with thoughts of expanding their family, they relocated from Brooklyn to Lindenhurst, NY and welcomed a daughter, Joie, into their family on November 13, 1980.
The Aliventi family relocated to Longwood, FL in 1993 where they happily lived for 22 years before Gerri and Donnie moved to Lake Mary. In 2003, Gerri retired from Lucent Technologies after dedicating over 30 years of service to the company.
Extremely proud of her Italian heritage and New York background, Gerri was an amazing and loving wife, mother, aunt, and friend and mentor to many. She loved cooking and reading and was an avid animal lover but above all she loved and adored her family. We are devastated that Gerri was called to Heaven but we have fond memories to cherish and know that she will be forever looking over us as a Guardian Angel.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Gerri's name to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Reception in Gerri's honor will be held on Friday, May 19th 4pm at Noah's Event Venue 720 Currency Cir, Lake Mary, FL 32746.
