Gilberto Flores III aka Nene/Chicago, was born to Lorie Amaro and Gilberto Flores Jr. on 8/24/1991. He was born premature at 6 months weighing in at 3 lbs 5 oz. He was born and raised in the city of Chicago with 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Gilbert as a child was one of the happiest babies ever born. His charismatic personality is one never to be forgotten. His laugh was contagious and had a smile that can brighten a room. He was the type of person to never leave your side in any situation, bad or good. He was loyal to his family and friends, a rarity in people today.
Growing up, Gilbert attended Avondale elementary, Logandale Middle School, and finished his sophomore year at Kelvin Park in Chicago. On July 21st, 2007, Gilbert continued his education in Orlando Florida where he attended rugby and baseball where he got the nickname "Chicago" from his baseball coach. He then proudly graduated from High School in 2009.
With a heart of giving, Gilbert had an interest of becoming an EMT Fireman, starting this fall at Valencia College in Orlando. Gilbert loved sports, as his favorite was basketball. His favorite team was the Chicago Bulls and favorite player, Derrik Rose.
Gilbert passed away, doing what he loved best… playing basketball. He passed due to having an enlarged heart, and that's exactly who and what he represented as a person… one with A LARGE HEART. May God rest his beautiful soul.
