Gladys Pagan, widow of Luciano Pagan, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Florida Hospital in Orlando. She was born on February 8, 1933 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico to Abraham De Jesus and Juana Perez. She was raised by her grandmother, Benacia Colón. She lived in Chicago, Illinois for most of her life and retired to Orlando, Florida.
She is survived by her daughter Elsa Porrata of Orlando, Florida; daughter Eneilda Pagan of Crown Point, Indiana; son Edelmiro Pagan of Redwood City, California; son Edwin Pagan of Fort Worth, Texas; and son Elias Pagan of Mundelein, Illinois.
In addition to her children, she proudly raised her grandsons Angelo and Antonio Rodriguez and cherished her great-granddaughter Anice Rodriguez. She is fondly remembered by her eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, friends, and those who loved her.
Gladys was a proud mother to all, who never let anyone go hungry. Her charity to those in need was venerable, as she never refused anyone who sought her help. She was adored by all for her great cooking – everyone who visited her left with two treats: her love and her delicious food. Her hobbies included caring for her family, her bird, keeping an immaculate home, and her beloved trips to Las Vegas. All who knew her, knew never to call during her Telenovelas and The Price Is Right. We will miss her dearly and look forward to the day that we are together again.
