Gloria Joan DeNegres (nee Zukowski) passed away on May 19, 2024, at the age of 84 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. She was born on December 6, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY. Gloria resided for many years in Massapequa, NY, Lindenhurst, NY and Troy, VA.
Gloria is survived by her loving family, sons Michael (Lynne) Mercilliott, Longwood, FL; and Laurence (Maureen) Mercilliott, Daleville, AL; sisters, Elizabeth (Ronald) Schreiner, Southampton, MA; and Mary Rieder (Robert Ratliff), Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Daryl (Jaime) Mercilliott, Rockville, MD; Christopher (Melissa) Mercilliott, Tucson, AZ; Matthew (Samantha) Shaw, West Babylon, NY; Jonathan (Jessica) Shaw, Sayville, NY; Alexander (Kimberly) Mercilliott, Level Plains, AL; Tyler Shaw, Bay Shore, NY; Britani Mercilliott, Enterprise, AL; Sean (Stephanie) Mercilliott, Winter Park, FL; Kevin Mercilliott (Aleka Stevens), Denver, CO; and son-in-law Robert Shaw, Bay Shore, NY; great grandchildren, Bryan and Natalle Mercilliott, Daniel Mercilliott, Jacob, Benjamin and Madeline Shaw, and Sawyer Mercilliott and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael DeNegres, parents Matthew and Gertrude Zukowski, and her daughter April Shaw.
Gloria had a lifelong love of gardening, spending countless hours nurturing her plants and flowers. She grew the most amazing vegetables. Gloria also had an incredible talent creating digital art.
A ceremony to honor Gloria's life will take place at Culpeper National Cemetery, Virginia, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Michael DeNegres.
