Gloria A. White
1967 – 2023
Our dear Gloria Anne White, age 55, of Orlando Florida, went home to heaven to be with Jesus on Friday, February 17, 2023.
Gloria was born July 16th, 1967 in Erie, Pa. to John and Joyce White, who were pioneers treading in uncharted waters with a Down Syndrome child, with the help and guidance of the Barber National Institute. In 1988, Joyce and Gloria moved to Orlando, Florida to be closer to her family. Gloria was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt to her many family members and friends whom she loved and cherished. Gloria shared a special relationship with her sister and advocate Vicky Stork, who they referred to each other as "snicklefritz" and "my sweet girl." She will be dearly missed by all who met and spent any amount of time with Gloria. There was a saying by everyone who knew Gloria, "she always managed to teach you one of life's many lessons when you spent any amount of time with her". There is no doubt she will live on in the memories of all those who loved her.
Gloria is survived by her brother Nels & Karen White of Erie, Pa.; her sister, Vicky Stork (White) & Christopher Stork of Orlando, Florida and sister, Dr. Sharon Findley (White) & Drew Findley of Mt. Dora, Florida. Gloria also is survived by her Aunt Elizabeth Cantrell, (11) nieces, (8) great nieces and (6) great nephews; also, a village of many family and friends who came to know her. Gloria is preceded in death by her father & mother, John & Joyce White.
A Church Memorial & Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, at 11:00AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1515 S. Semoran Blvd., Orlando, Fl. 32807.
Internment and Graveside Services will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Erie, Pa. on July 15th, 2023.
Arrangements are by Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (Goldenrod Rd.) in Orlando, Fl.
