Gonzalo Atiles, 86, of Orlando, passed away on November 19, 2023 at his home in Orlando.
He was born on January 10, 1937 to Carmelo and Carmen (Perez) Atiles in Hatillo, Puerto Rico.
Gonzalo worked as a Foreman for 45 years in New York before moving to Florida and working for Community Actions in Orange County until the age of 80.
Gonzalo is survived by his loving daughter, Cheryl Atiles; his grandchildren, Crystal, Kimberly, Alexis, Elena, Miranda, Sofia, Kayla, Daniel, Leora, and Joshua; his great-grandchildren, Darisz, Zaida, Leonardo, Zaria, Derek and Malachi; his siblings, Tito, Rogelio, and Yaya; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Matilde Atiles, his son, Joseph Atiles, his parents, Carmen Perez, and Carmelo Atiles, his brothers Miguel and Ovildio.
Gonzalo was loved by all who knew him. He was a workaholic, who loved helping his community. He was a kind a generous man, giving everything he had to those who might need it. He was always stylish in his own way, not caring about the trends of the time. Gonzalo was a man who chose to be as respectable as he dressed and was often opinionated about being a gentleman. He was given the nickname "Caballero" by his friends for his carefree attitude and strong adherence to his gentleman's code. He was a delight to all who knew him and he will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held on November 27, 2023, at 10:00am , at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Orlando, Florida.
Funeral services will be held following the visitation.
An Interment will take place will take place at the Chapel Hill Cemetery after the funeral service.
