Gregory Alan Dunbar

Gregory Alan Dunbar, age 58, of Windermere FL, passed away peacefully on Monday August 16th, 2021, at the Advent Health Hospital Apopka, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Marlyse Dunbar. He was born on April 26th, 1963, in Providence, Rhode Island, a son of William Dunbar Jr. and the late Lucille V. (Derosier) Dunbar. He attended North Providence High School, and then graduated from William M. Davies Jr. Career and Technical High School. He served in the Air Force and subsequently retired after many years of service. After obtaining countless certifications, he became a Network Engineer for IGT Corporation of Providence for 15+ years. His dedication to his job and family led him to a take a remote position and work from home. He was a reserved man that enjoyed reading, listening to podcasts, going to the beach, and spending time with family. When he was younger, he loved playing hockey. He was able to share his love of the ice with his family as he taught them all how to ice skate. In his free time, he loved to take hikes and go on picnics with his wife, children, and granddaughter. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

He will be lovingly remembered by; wife Marlyse Dunbar, children; Heather Colantonio, Kevin Colantonio, Christopher Dunbar, Tyler Dunbar, and Natalia Dunbar, and granddaughter; Stella Kilic. Remembering him will also be his father William Dunbar Jr., grandmother; Eugenia (Jean) Derosier, Siblings; Mary Harnois, Paula Soares, David Dunbar (Cindy), Peter Dunbar (Tracy), as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, a total of 11 nieces and nephews, and 6 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Dunbar, and sister Billie Berube.

Visitation will be private. Cremation to follow. He will be receiving full military honor with a date and location to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donate to a charity of your choice.
