GREGORY GARRETT husband for 30 years of Joyce (Strazisar); father of Abigail Garrett Schweinhart (husband Chris), Andrew, and Elizabeth; son of Charles and Betty (Dagsher) Garrett; brother of Kathleen Garrett Stevens (Edward); uncle to many. Greg's fatherly love also stretched beyond the boundaries of traditional family to Jillian Cisneros, Addison Fitzgerald, and Alexis Gracey.
Greg was born in Pennsylvania on February 2, 1959 and passed away on December 28, 2017. He grew up on the shores of Lake Erie in Catawba Island, Ohio, attended Port Clinton High School, and earned his B.A. and MBA from nearby Bowling Green State University. Greg spent 30 years in various financial roles in the cable TV industry, always willing to help others navigate their way among the ever-changing corporate landscape.
Greg's pride and joy was his family. He loved attending his children's activities and life events. He ensured Andrew went to all his Buddy Baseball games in Tampa, even after moving to Orlando. Greg was passionate about car racing and watched numerous events at Sandusky and New Smyrna Speedways. He also enjoyed traveling to visit family, fishing, and being outdoors. Greg loved vacationing in the mountains and walking the many beaches of Florida, his favorite being watching sunsets at St. Pete Beach. He will be dearly missed.
