Harold Lloyd Wichhart, born January 9, 1937, was greeted by our Lord on March 29, 2023.
Harold was born and raised in Pella, Iowa, the eldest of three brothers Delmar, Melvin and David. He graduated from Pella High School in 1955. He attended Open Bible College where he met the love of his life, Linda. They would be married on August 24th, 1957. They lived in Runnells, Iowa. He began working for American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) as one of the pioneers in 1963. He would move his family to Cincinnati, Ohio; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Kansas City, Missouri then finally to Orlando Florida where he would retire in 1991. He began working for Campus Crusade for Christ in 1992 as the Director of Telecommunications. He retired from Crusade in 2004. Among these other professions including Realtor, Walt Disney Bus Driver, retiring a third time as a local school bus driver. He was very active and attended First Baptist Church Orlando where he enjoyed actively singing in the choir where they had a special Christmas and Easter performances which they also performed in Wales. He loved woodworking projects, gardening, reading and his love of trains is apparent by his large collection through out the house. Harold was a loving family man but still had that warm and funny side that people close to him will always remember.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Linda Hunnell, their three children: daughters, Andrea Tatley (Gary) Buffalo, Minnesota, and Melissa Ward (Randy) Mount Dora, Florida, son Eric Wichhart (Lynda) Winter Garden, Florida, granddaughter, Charissa Ward, Leesburg, Florida, and her children (Aaron, Hailey, and Emma) grandson, Joshua Ward (Amber), Orlando, Florida, and his children (Maci, Evelyn, and Shaylee), granddaughter, Leif Tatley (Grace), Minneapolis, Minnesota, grandson, Christian Wichhart and granddaughter, Hannah Wichhart Both of Winter Garden, Florida. His brothers Melvin (Melonie) Wichhart, and David (Ricky) Wichhart.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Adam Wichhart and Jeanette Klein, and brother Delmar Wichhart also of Pella.
A Celebration of Life service will be May 2nd, 2023, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church Orlando in the Henry Chapel, 3000 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida 32805.
