Harry Norris Handley

Harry Norris Handley passed away in the evening of December 22, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carolyn Louisa Hughes and Carl Hewitt Handley, and his sister Carlene Handley. His sister, Carolyn Avery, passed away on December 30, 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Emily Handley, his grand-children: Andrew and Chloe, his step-daughter, Sophia Boulaich, and his wife Nadia Handley (Benbrahim).
Harry was born on September 4, 1939 in Raleigh, NC. His attended Northside High School in Atlanta, GA, and pursued his higher education at Columbia University, Georgia Tech, and the University of Miami.
For the past 30 years, Harry headed his own market research firm, Bamberg-Handley, Inc. Early in his life, he held various posts ranging from Senior Aeronautical Engineer in NASA's space program, to Director of Advertising, Publicity and Research for the ABC network in Chicago and New York. Harry had been on the Board of Trustees of Montverde Academy since 2002.
Harry had three passions: his family, whom he never failed to shower with love, kindness and respect; education, by promoting the implementation of a STEM-based educational system in both private and public schools and universities; and NASA: his involvement with the space program in his early days has always held a special place in his heart.
He will be missed by everyone who knew him, but hopefully we can all learn from his kindness, compassion, humbleness, and deep sense of honor and duty.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Christian Church of Winter Park, 1140 S. Lakemont Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32792 (407-644-5060), on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 10:30 am. The family requests that plants be sent in lieu of flowers.
