Hassell Frederick "Fred" "Pepe" Bowman, passed away June 30 in Orlando. Born June 26, 1937 in Washington, DC, his family moved to the West Coast of Florida where they owned a restaurant and gas station. After graduating from Pasco High School, he joined the Air Force in 1955 and served until 1963. After being honorably discharged, he worked 8 years in banking in Washington, DC until he joined the Air Force for the second time and was stationed in Florida and Germany. He remained in Orlando and worked at the Naval Research Laboratory in a Civil Service capacity until he retired in 1994. After he retired he worked at Seniors 1st and that was by far his favorite place to work. He loved to sail and spend time on his boat at the Sanford Marina. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat; son, Kenneth; daughter-in-law, Cheryl and grandson Nicolas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, July 10 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Orlando.
