Hazel Irene Faulkner, age 96, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Webb City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 12, 2021.
Hazel was born to parents Clarence and Ruth Moyer on July 5, 1924 in Anthony, Kansas. The youngest of two girls and two brothers, she graduated from Carthage High School, Carthage, MO in the class of 1941.
She married Gunners Mate First Class John Louis Faulkner, US Navy, on Dec 30, 1944 in Corpus Christi, TX.
A long-term resident of Webb City, MO, she served as the Food Service Director for the Webb City Public School System. She will be long and lovingly remembered by members of the Webb City First Baptist Church where she was a devout member and taught Children's Sunday School for over fifty years.
She was well known by family and friends for her culinary talents, and took great pleasure in sharing the bounty from her kitchen. She was also a skilled gardener, who took great pride in maintaining a beautiful flower garden at her home in Webb City. A gracious hostess, a loving mother, and true friend she will be deeply missed by all.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, John, her sister, Ruth Moyer, brother Dean Moyer, and brother Maurice Moyer. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Hutchinson and husband, John, of Orlando, FL, and a son, Michael, and wife, Sue, of Houston, TX. Three grandchildren include John Louis Hutchinson, Christopher Lee Hutchinson and wife, Arlene, all of Orlando, and Henry Faulkner of Jersey City, NJ. Four great grandchildren include Waylon Faulkner, Faseem Ali, Liam Hutchinson and Isabella Hutchinson.
Services will be held in Webb City, MO in the near future at a time and place to be announced. Burial will follow the service at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the First Baptist Church of Webb City, Missouri or to St Jude's Children's Hospital. Initial arrangements have been entrusted to the Newcomers Funeral Home of Orlando, FL, with follow on services at the Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City, MO.
